"As the student assistant of the vibrant international research school the Netherlands Institute of Governance (NIG), I read about a large part of the amazing PhD research being done within the fields of Public Administration, Political Science and Governance. Around me I also see students of master programs within Public Administration and Organizational Science doing inspiring work. I think that by offering both Master- and PhD-students a platform to publish their great work, Public Note stimulates the improvement of the important research fields Public Administration, Governance and Political Science starting from the often overlooked research of students. I am proud to be a part of the team that is making this happen."
"While the network narrative has become dominant in contemporary public policy, the PhD trajectory about healthcare governance focuses on the meaning and practice of governing across traditional organizational boundaries for healthcare organizations and their management. Taken a practice-based approach, I’m interested in the actor-level work done over time in collaborative arrangements, and how traditional boundaries and care practices are reconfigured (or not). To challenge and stimulate young and upcoming scholars to share their work with a wider public, I’m pleased to work alongside fellow board members to further develop Public Note as a learning platform, and moreover, to strengthen ties between (PhD-)students in contributing to public debates."
"As secretary of Public Note, every paper first passes me before landing at the reviewer. I enjoy seeing the wide variety of papers being send in and to learn something new from each author. Similarly, I believe Public Note can be a platform for students as well as academia who, either through publishing, reviewing or reading, learn new skills in academic publishing or gain new insights in the various topics of the published articles. I am happy and motivated to contribute to Public Note, to enhance its possibilities and learning potential."
"The biggest question that drives my research curiosity is: what role we all play in influencing each other’s beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors? In my PhD work, I try to tackle this question by looking at: What do citizens think of public sector workers? What do citizens expect of them? How different are these views and expectations in different parts of the world? How do public sector workers themselves respond to these expectations and views about them?
Outside of my academic work, my focus is on increasing advocacy and expanding visibility of young researchers and their great research works. I believe curious minds should be recognized and nurtured so that they are encouraged to explore and discover what they would like to say to the world. For that, I am proud to be a part of the team that is making this happen."

"The combination of politics, organisation, and governance is integral in motivating vivid debate regarding topics of public interest. I am glad to be working with my inspiring colleagues to further such debates together with our Masters’ and PhD-scholars. I take great motivation from the myriad of researches coming to Public Note and inform my institutional-structural approach to civil and military conflicts. In the same way, Public Note strives to agitate other researchers in many other different fields to stay informed, move beyond, and shift the paradigms in understanding public interest."
"In my own study experience, I have noticed the most insightful moments came from my own ideas being challenged by other students. Therefore I believe academics should not be limited to assignments and interaction should be encouraged. By giving individuals a platform, by and for students, Public Note is able to capture and spread new ideas. So far being part of Public Note and to cooperate with board members from a variety of disciplines has been an inspiring experience."

"The main reason for me to be active in the academic world is because I like science. Ever since I was young, I want to learn new things, study why they are as they are, gain new insights, and examine them from different perspectives. I believe, however, that often we tend to forget that this is the thing that science is about. As a result, subjects will be perceived much more complex that they in reality are. Moreover, they are resulting in scientific articles that are often inaccessible to a larger public. Public Note is a platform that puts this matter on the agenda by providing promising young researchers with a platform that is accessible. Something very close to my heart as I believe that education and science is the first step to making the world a better place."
